Bluffing or Not – Poker Analysis

Online Poker

Experienced poker players are much more difficult to be fooled just by bluffing, especially if they are playing for cash. When you are bluffing, you need to be extremely confident in your hand. You need to play your hand just enough to make your opponent fold to you, but not so much that they end up throwing away their money. You can spot a bluffer when they raise with a strong hand, or when they call without having the best hand – this is when you know it is a bluff. Many times this happens because the person has gotten comfortable with calling with poor cards.

Bluffing Techniques

It is very important to keep track of your opponents especially if you are playing for cash. Keeping a running tally of how many times you have been called for raising or re-raise without a strong hand, and how many times you have been called with marginal hands can help you figure out when your opponents are bluffing. Knowing how to identify bluffing in poker will help you keep your poker face and keep your losses at a minimum. It will also allow you to know whether your opponent is trying to pull a fast one on you or not.

If you want to become a successful poker player, you will need to learn how to identify bluffing in poker. By using good poker psychology, you will not only succeed at the game, but you will also increase your chances of winning. If you can read your opponents, you will be able to determine whether they are faking or not.

When you think of bluffing you may immediately think of a few badasses in old western movies, or some bluffer in chess, but what if you’re a poker player who haven’t learnt to bluff yet, and you’re about to play against someone with a real professional strategy? What should you be prepared for? Should you let them win so you can know how a real professional poker player would handle the situation, or do you hold your cards close and wait for the right moment to show your bluffing skills? There are many considerations to make before stepping into such a volatile situation.

Fold or Bluff

Bluffing in poker online is all about situational awareness. It’s all about reading the body language of the other players in the game, and taking advantage of those subtle clues. You need to look for when you know that the person is about to make a big move, or is about to make a mistake. For example, if you spot a player who seems to be having a tough time making the right decision, or is getting pressured in a position where they should be able to execute a strong play, then you can bet like crazy and get yourself a huge pay off. Or if you see that a player is consistently getting blindsided in a game – then you can start to look for an opening and put in huge bets when it’s your turn to act.
